The ice Experiment
We did an experiment about the ice. We were finding out how heavy it was. We used scales and weights and we measured how heavy it was. There were 5s, 10s and 20s. We found out that it was heavy. I like doing the experiment.

Pirates on PhotoPeach
What a motley crew!
On pirate day I was the runner up against Asher for the winner.I brought an eyepatch, cut pants and a shirt.I didn't play very much with my costume.I didn't like the day because it did not seem quite fun to play.
Pirate day is the day that you can dress up as a pirate.
Pirate day is when you can bring swords and hooks
and other stuff. You can bring a gun, an eye patch or
some weapons.

On Friday Howick Primary School had a pirate day. I wore a candy dress with an eye patch. I wore a hook and some really cool shoes. On Friday we had a parade. The teachers got to choose who was the best dressed up. It was Asher who won. All of the classes had to walk around the school. It was fun.

On pirate day lots of people in the school came to school in pirate mufti. I came in a pirate cloth hat and pirate clothes. We had a contest to see who had the best costume in each class. In our class it was Asher. The best class got a prize. It was Room 4 {four}.

Last Friday it was Pirate Day. My mum didn't let me bring my sword. People brought hooks and swords. It wasn't fair.

On Pirate Day our whole class came in mufti. Most of us came dressed as a pirate. Emily came as a pirate princess. She looked really cute. Lots of boys brought their weapons. I came as a pirate as well. I was wearing jewelry and a tie instead of a belt, only boys wear belts. Andre looked really scary with the mask.

On Friday we were going to get pirate costumes. We needed to bring money because we were wearing the pirate costumes. We needed to bring swords and hooks so we could play with them or play sword fights with other friends. I like pirate costumes because I like colourful t-shirts and pants. The costumes were awesome and I liked them. Then we took a photo and we got inside the classroom.

On Friday it was Pirate Day. There were lots of people dressed like pirates. When I came to my classroom some girls looked like they were in mufti. But the rest were pirates because it was Pirate Day. All the boys were dressed like pirates. After the bell rang and after Bible we lined up with the rest of the school. The whole school were showing their cool pirate costumes. Asher had the best costume and after that we had a class photo.

Kapahaka
On Thursday kapahaka people went to Koanga Festival and the kapahaka people got changed into our costumes. We wore our lipstick too and we practised inside the school. When we were done practising we went out and performed on the stage and lots of people were in there. When we were done performing we got changed into our normal clothes and went home.

On Saturday, I went to Koanga Festival at Farm Cove Intermediate to perform with Whaea O'Shea. Everyone in kapa haka had to practise lots and lots! On the real performance I was very nervous. All the girls had to wear black lipstick. My favourite song to perform was Ma ranga ranga.
On Saturday I went to the Koanga Festival to perform! There was food and ice-cream there but I did not eat just then. I found Miss Smol and my best friend. She was performing too! Miss Smol went with us to a room. We put black lipstick on. Whaea o shea is our kapa haka teacher. She teaches us every Tuesday. Then it was time to perform. I went out there and enjoyed it.

On Saturday we went to the koanga festival at Farm Cove Intermediate to perform. When we all got there we all got ready and did a practice . We were meant to go on at 2.30 but it was half an hour later. So when we got on the stage there was a lot of people. I was scared but after one song I was OK. We did 9 songs. We went off the stage and ran back to the gym. The stage was flat and it was for basket ball and there were stands all around it.

On Saturday we went to Farm Cove Intermediate for the Koanga Festival because Howick Primary was doing a show for the audience. We got to wear costumes and have feathers in our hair. We also got black lipstick on. My favourite one was the haka and the waka. I like the waka because we have pois. Kapahaka is mostly singing and dancing. We like to perform now. Whaea O' Shea was the leader of Kapahaka. We were surprised about Richard, Boss's dad because he did a well done haka for the whole group.

Choir at Kids for Kids
Kids for Kids on PhotoPeach On Tuesday Morning we went to Vodafone Events Centre for a practice. After that we went back to school. I was nervous because at night it was the actual performance. After school I put my dress on and went to Vodafone Events Centre and the show was on. I sang and sang till the show was off. I was so tired.

Not that long ago a group of about 25 Year 4's went to Vodafone Events Centre. Me and Michaela (from Room 7) were the first ones there. When we went inside it took forever for everyone to come. When we went on stage I felt extremely nervous but luckily time ticked by and before you knew it, it was finished. After the show I got an autograph from Jackie Clarke.
By Jordan.
On Tuesday we went to kids for kids and Jackie Clark and Nathan king were there to help about seven school choirs for their excellent singing. Kids for Kids was only for the Year Four choir. Over there I auditioned for a kina part for the one prickly kina in a kina shell. I didn't get through sadly, but I got to dance for She's a Mod. It was a fun tiring day but it was worth it!!
By Jaden
Before on Tuesday the 22nd there was a Kids for Kids choir show. A lot of people were there. The songs that we sang were Three Little Pipis in a Pipi Shell, Welcome home, Gumboots, Maybe Tomorrow, Take the Weather with you and lucky last - She's a Mod. When we sand She's a Mod three people from our school went up and formed a group and started to dance. I was in the very front. I was shy but I still danced and also had fun. Mrs Callister, Mrs Coker and Mrs Bevan took photos of me, Jaden and Sophia dancing. Then we went home.

Science - Evaporation
A few weeks ago my class did an experiment. We drew around puddles of water in the sun and the shade. We came out five minutes later. We all came out and looked at the puddles. My group's water was nearly all gone. It was in the sun. It took five minutes. That didn't take long at all. Three minutes later it was all gone.
By Connor
Yesterday we were trying something out. We were experimenting. We put water on the ground. Three people put theirs in the sun and three people in the shade but the sun won. The water evaporated! Yes it did evaporate. It was really cool. There was a bit left.
